Hi, my name is Niall Farrell. I am an energy and environmental economist at the Economic and Social Research Institute and I run this podcast "At the Margin".

I carry out research in energy and environmental economics. My research has covered topics such as: efficient risk management in renewable energy investment incentives; how electricity markets should be designed in a high renewables world; and how climate change impacts and associated policy measures will affect those less well-off.

I have previously worked at the University of Oxford, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Queen's University Belfast. I obtained my Ph.D from the National University of Ireland, Galway, during which time I spent a year at UC Berkeley.
